The Nocturne Art at Night Festival is happening October 17th - 20th, 2024. The main Nocturne event, and all North End Halifax art installations, is happening on Saturday, October 19th from 6:00pm to midnight.

This annual event transforms the city into a sprawling art gallery, where streets, parks, and public spaces come alive with creativity and expression. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect to see in North End Halifax during this magical night.


North End Noc-Tour

START POINT: Propeller Brewing (2015 Gottingen Street)

END POINT: Propeller Brewing

Distance: ​​3.0 km (Approximately (42 minutes of walking time)

Tour Times: 6:00, 8:00, 10:00 p.m.

Description: Wander into Halifax's North End with this Noc-tour full of wonders. This tour has everything you're looking for from statues to bookbinding. Make sure to catch one of the guided tours! This Noc-tour is presented by Propeller Brewery, also our partners in the whimsical Noc-beer ;)

Hydrostone Bike Route

This route starts at Hydrostone Park (Gottingen St After Young St) and ends at the Halifax Central Library Bike Valet. Each ride will take approximately 25 minutes.

Inbound rides: 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm

Outbound rides: 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm

Road to Nowhere

Description: "Road to Nowhere" features an inflatable representation of the former Cogswell Interchange overpass, serving as a memorial to the social issues associated with its construction. This installation prompts reflection on the existing challenges confronting our communities and resistance to unsustainable development.

Description: Join us on Saturday, October 19, from 7-10 PM at the Shambhala School in Halifax’s North End for a special Nocturne performance by Nova Voce, Nova Scotia’s provincial men’s choir. The evening will feature a captivating repertoire of Canadian folk music, showcasing pieces like Four Strong Winds, Wood River, Northwest Passage, The Hockey Song, and more.

Nocturne x Propeller Launch Party!

When: September 27, 2024, 7:30pm to late.

Location: Propeller Brewery (2015 Gottingen Street)

Description: There will be artists, organizers, sponsors, and community members in attendance, some great music, and this year's limited release Nocturne Dark Lager will also be available! This event is all ages until 9 pm. Come out early to catch a special artist's talk with Jupiter V, the creative mastermind behind Nocturne's 2024 logo and branding! Their talk starts at 6:30 pm and will extend into the start of the party.
