Call to Artists: "I (heart) North End" Tote Bag Competition

The North End Business Association (NEBA) is looking to revamp our “I (heart) North End” tote bag and we want to hear from you, the community. We seek submissions from artists of various backgrounds and skill levels to refresh the artwork displayed on the tote bags. The North End of Halifax is home to a diverse community, rooted in multiculturalism, DIY, and community-minded living - We want to see your unique interpretation of our neighborhood, how you identify with your community, or simply your favorite part of being here!

NEBA will produce branded canvas tote bags to be distributed to businesses within the NEBA district as well as used for the purpose of promoting the North End through contests and giveaways. A total of one art piece will be selected through online community voting. The tote bags will be printed, distributed, and reprinted as necessary for a period of 2 years by NEBA.

Details:

Limit of two entries per person.
Short-listed entries will be displayed online for community voting; the entry with the most votes will win.
The winning artist will receive a $500 honorarium.
The winning entry will be professionally printed on canvas or cotton tote bags.
Artists must submit a written description of the art submission
Artists must submit a personal Bio
Artwork can be old or new work

Requirements:

Artwork must be converted to black outline, and have a maximum of one additional colour.
Must include text: “I ❤ North End” and be easily visible.

Technical Specifications:

The artwork must be scalable to 12" X 12"
High-resolution image minimum 300 dpi
Submitted work must be a digital file - accepted formats are jpeg, png, pdf, tiff.
For digital art, CMYK colors are preferred.
All files submitted must be named appropriately (example: Artist named Jones. Files names Jones1, Jones 2. ect. )
